Save the Tricks, I'll take the TREATS!

What a great night for Trick or Treating!!  70 degree weather, great food and great company!!  Tonight we continued tradition and spent the evening with the Price family.  We gathered for dinner and then got the kids ready for trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Nolan had a blast!  He'd RUN to the door, since he was the littlest he'd be the last to get up there, but he'd put his hands behind his back and politely wiggle his way to the front of the pack, then with the biggest brown eyes and sweet tone say, "have one?"  He'd take TWO and then say "THANK YOU"!!!  He'd run back to me and say "look Nolan find!"  So much fun!!  He walked or ran the WHOLE way and enjoyed the whole time.  He'd hold his candy until we got to the next house, then he'd put it in his bag and go get "more cany".  His "Alfalfa" costume was a hit and he really played up the part.  He didn't know he was doing it, but he sure had it!

Well, another Halloween come and gone, now we need to get the candy out of the house and get our diets back on until Thanksgiving! :)

Happy candy sorting!

Scared out of my shorts....CHECK!

Night before Halloween...CHECK
Five 12 year old girls...CHECK
Dark, scary field...CHECK

We had all of our "checks" and we were ready to go!  Tonight I took Megan and her friends, Maddy, Brianna, Lauren and Darian to the "Field of ScReAmS"!!!  It was a ton of fun!! We waited in line for an hour and a half for 30 minutes of shear terror! :)  Luckily I was with five 12 year olds so they took it easy on us! :)  It was lots of fun and hopefully great memories for the girls!

On the wagon going to the FIELD!!
You can seriously hear gun shots and people
screaming on the way out there.

Gearing up for the hay rack ride to the field.
There were a lot of nerves and it was only our FIRST line! :)

My girl...she's growing up!

WE MADE IT OUT ALIVE!!! :)
The girls are trying to teach me to be cool in this picture.
I don't think that it worked! :)

Enjoying the wagon ride back...Good times!

I will as a member of the Little Rascal's Club...

It looks like Nolan got inducted into the "Little Rascal's Club" tonight.  He even knows the handshake! :)

Harvest Party

Tonight was the Harvest Party at church.  Jenn and Cooper came over for dinner then we headed to the party.  It was a BLAST!!  There was LOTS of candy and Nolan was all about that!  They played games to earn MORE CANDY!  Cooper and Nolan seemed to enjoy one another and had a good time.  After Cooper left, Nolan joined up with his "girlfriends" and did the cake walk and we WON! :)  YEAH, just what mommy needs is some yummy homemade cookies! :)  It was lots of fun and a good practice run for the costumes for Friday!  Well, Nolan is working on coming down from the sugar high and John is yelling my name...I hope Nolan didn't tie him up! :)

Night night....

Swimming lessons

This morning was the first day of swimming lessons.  Nolan was RARING to get into the pool!!  LUCKILY, mommy thought she was 25 min early thinking we'd have time to change and get paid up.  Turns out, we were RIGHT ON TIME!  So rushing through the locker room, into the Elmo swim diaper that we'd been DYING to put on all morning and mommy changed and into the pool we go.

To mommy's surprise it's a WARM WATER pool for the mom tot class.  NO, not because all the kids pee in there, it's all warm water so they want to stay in.  COOL DEAL!  And great for mommy too because let's face it, mom wasn't all too thrilled about getting in a swim suit and getting in a cold pool.  BUT, for Nolie I would.  But it was great.

Nolan got his goggles on and his flippers and away we went to swim laps.  Miss Wanda is hard core...I LOVE IT!  The goggles were a crack up.  He could barely see out of them because his eyes were all squinty...we'll be getting our own next week so we can get them adjusted and good to go!  Anyway, he had a blast!

When it was time to sit on the side and jump in he was way ready.  I told him he had to wait for Miss Wanda to tell him 1,2,3 GO....he repeats REAL FAST....1,2,3 GO!!  Miss Wanda was impressed by his no fear and was very complimentary of him.  It was great!  We look forward to going back next week!!

Pumpkin Carving

This weekend we took our Wal-mart pumpkins and turned them into masterpieces!  We had some friends over for chili for Luke's birthday and the carving was on!  Digging and scraping and "de-goopatizing" the inards and away we went!  I of course had the CLEANEST pumpkin!  Luke doesn't like to "de-goop" so his wasn't that good, but boy could he cut out a pumpkin....with great big ears! :)  Good job buddy!  Megan worked on her masterpiece and it was fabulous!  I helped Nolan and he's was good too!  It was lots of fun and we enjoyed the company and the beautiful weather. Good times...

Pumpkin Carving Pictures

Seriously....enough

Okay, I think Nolan is going to be either a designer or a hair stylist!  Yes, we've seen Vicks, we've seen vaseline, we've seen aquafore and NOW we see TOOTHPASTE!!!

Yes, I went up to Nolan's room on Friday night and to NO SURPRISE! He had climbed up the dresser, into the drawer and had toothpaste from one end of the room to the other including his hair!!

At this point I'm really not surprised with anything that is in his hair, but still a pain!  We washed it out and really the best pictures came from the wash out!! He looked in the mirror and said, "Look mom...phish!"

Luke Birthday = KU GAME!

This weekend was Luke's birthday.  SO we got him tickets to the KU/Texas Tech game.  It was lots of fun, however the Hawks got beat bad!  But it was still a good time.

When we got there we parked and walked to the field.  It was such a beautiful day and what a beautiful campus!  Megan and I got our picture in front of the Chi Omega fountain!  (yeah Libby) and then we walked along the parade route enjoying the parade and the people.  Luck would have it that Megan found their cousin Amanda as we were walking along the route!

We finished the day with Pyramid Pizza and headed back to Wichita.  Good times for Luke's birthday!

Welcome Margaret (Maggie) Elizabeth Hineman!

Our good friends, Libby and Andy, welcomed a beautiful baby girl today!  She weighed 6 lbs 13 ounces and 20 inches long.  Mom and baby are doing great!  Kalo is going to make a WONDERFUL big brother!!  Congrats Hineman's!! :)

Pumpkin Patch....Again!

Today we spent the afternoon at the pumpkin patch again.  I'm telling you, this is the deal of the century.  $10, play all day, beautiful weather, little muddy, but that's what the washer is for!!  Good nap and great pictures! :)

The first part of the afternoon we played with the Wells girls.  Nolan loves to play with Kiera and they had fun feeding the animals, riding the train, the slide, the zip line and the hayrack ride to the patch.  The patch was quite muddy so not much time was spent there! :) Nolan would have LOVED to play in the mud!

As the Wells girls left, Christy and Reed pulled up to meet us.  So Nolan went for round 2 with Reed.  He had a great time with Reed.  Reed is so ready to be big, he's just not quite there!  He sure enjoyed watching Nolan and the other kids climb on the hay!!  Next year he'll give it a run for it's money.

The boys enjoyed playing on the hay bales, in the hay and sliding down the hay! :)  They also enjoyed playing with the pumpkins at the front.  Nolan found a little tiny gord.  So he grabbed the wagon of corn and said "give it a ride" so away Nolan went with the Patch's wagon and corn giving the little gord a ride!  :)  Good times!!

It was a great afternoon and Nolan is now down for a nap, will he wake for dinner?  We shall see! :)

Megan's Music Program

Tonight was Megan's music program.  It was really fun!! They did songs from High School Musical and it was perfect as they all wore their team colors!  GO RED! :)

Megan is a wonderful singer and we enjoy her programs.  Nolan even did a great job tonight as it was past his bedtime, but we told him that Mimi was going to sing him some songs.  He really enjoyed it!!

Great job Megan!!  We love you!

"I WUV MY SISTER!"

This was too cute, I forgot to post on the last one! :)

The Pick of the Patch

...or the box that is.  Since I'm a cheap0-O and only play at the pumpkin patch instead of buying a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, today was the day.  We were grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and since Nolan had been such a good boy shopping I let him pick out his pumpkin to carve this weekend with Luke and Megan.  Oh, he was excited!  Once he found his favorite he says "NOWAN"S PUNKIN"!  He sat it beside him in the cart and began to "love" on his pumpkin.  Oh so sweet, he was content the rest of the trip.  He was WAY excited to get it home and show daddy! Who'd a thought, the best pumpkin was at Wal-mart for $3.25! :)

I was looking at the pictures from today and remembered this picture from last year, same time, same place!  Look what a year makes!!  Oh, he's growing up!! :)

Applejack's Pumpkin Patch

This morning Nolan and I met up with a play group and headed to the pumpkin patch.  What a great patch especially for little kids.  Lots of play stuff on the play ground and of course a barrel ride, slides and Nolan's favorite...the pet kitten.  Nolan loved all over that cat.  It really was a nice little kitty, but really, we're at the pumpkin patch! :)  It was a great time.  Here are some pics.

Nolan Loved playing on the pumpkins.  He'd climb up there and say, CHEESE!
The child NEVER get's his picture taken. :)

Tire horsey ride!  Lots of fun!!

The SLIDE!
The first time I went with Nolan.  We went up again and Nolan says,
"No mommy, me self"
My baby's getting to big for mommy's help! :(

This was great!!  Nolan would have ridden the barrel ride all day long.  I don't know if it was the barrel ride or the lawn mower pulling it that was so fascinating, but he LOVED IT!

Teeter totters RULE!

RH vs. Salina South

Luke had another game last night in Rose Hill.  They played Salina South, which is a BIG 6A school with some great athletes.  I really think they might have brought their varsity.  Needless to say, it was a rough game, but it was a great evening, the weather was perfect football weather.  Great Job Luke!
Nolie hanging with the Jr. High girls...he LOVES it!!

Happy Birthday Cooper

Yesterday we attended Nolan's new friend, Cooper's birthday party.  It was a great time!! Cooper turned 2 and like most 2 year olds was a little overwhelmed by all the hoopla and people.  Nolan, he's a pro, he's been through that 2nd birthday party and NOW, he knows how to party!!

The party was held at My Gym in Wichita.  It was fabulous, the two employees ran the party, they played on all of the gymnastic equipment as well as other games, a zip line and a train!  Then of course, CAKE!!  Yummy!! It was a monkey theme, so cute!!!  They each got a goodie bag, in them was candy and such, but also a Curious George book.  It's so cute!!

This morning I heard Nolan talking in his bed when he woke up.  I went up to get him and he was lounged back in his bed among the blankets and stuffed animals reading his book!  He says, like book mommy!  So sweet!!

Thanks Cooper for a great birthday party!!

Bugs, Butterflies and Cow Poop OH MY!

John and Nolan started a little "ritual" a couple of weeks ago.  They go on a "boys only hike".  Nolan has really enjoyed this time with his daddy and I think daddy does the same.  Tonight Nolan went to John's office before dinner and says, "daddy, hike?" So off they went...

Nolan tells me that on their hikes they throw rocks in the pond, they see bugs, butterflies and cow poop.  The latter being his favorite.  He's always excited to tell me when he sees cow poop. :)

Such a precious time with our baby who is growing more and more into a little boy!  God truly is amazing with his gifts.

Daddy and Nolan off on a "BOYS ONLY HIKE"!

Hannah's Party

Yesterday Nolan and I went to Robin's to help get ready for Hannah's birthday and costume party!  It was a great time.  They decorated the garage, Robin made the CUTEST food and it was time for the party.

12 goblins arrived to the party and the games began.  From finding the "murderer" to digging through the intestines to find the prize to going on a bone hunt.  The kids had a great time and Nolan was RIGHT in the middle of all of it!  :)  He had a great time too and I think he had more sugar yesterday than he's had in his WHOLE life!  But, it was a good practice run for Halloween in a couple of weeks! :)
