Disney Part II

We made it home and we're all pretty tired, but catching up from a great week!! Since our last post, this is all we did!

Tuesday, Nolan and I went back to Magic Kingdom. We went thinking that all of the high school kids that were there for band festivals and President's Day would be gone. Many of them were but turns out it's "Winter Break" for many schools so the place was PACKED!! It was still fun, just had to work a little harder to see all we wanted to see. We lucked out when we got through the gates there was CHIP and DALE! Good times!! They had fun with Nolan, when he'd be looking at one of them, the other would tickle and taunt him, then visa versa, Nolan thought that was just pretty darn funny!

From there we rode rides, The Disney Train, Winnie the Pooh: Nolan LOVED it! Snow White's Scary Adventures: Nolan didn't like so much! Pirates of the Carribean, and of course BUZZ LIGHTYEAR...a couple of times! :) We ran into Hook and Mr. Smeets out side of the Pirate ride so we had a little chat with them as well.

Since it was our last day at the parks, we enjoyed the Spectomagic Parade and the fireworks before we headed back to the hotel. We had lots of fun going to the parks. It was definately a work out, but a good one!! Nolan had a blast and this morning when he woke up he said, "Let's go see Buzz...Please?" Of course we have some Buzz toys that helped to "sooth" that urge! :)

Wednesday you could say we were both EXHAUSTED! We slept in and headed to Downtown Disney. It was a nice walk, just across the street from the hotel. We rode a couple of rides, found a life size version of none other than BUZZ and I thought the T-Rex Cafe would be fun for lunch. Well, turns out it scared Nolan TO DEATH! The hostess was all proud of herself that she could seat us right next to the baby mammoth. Well, BABY Mammoth, started "Performing" and that was it for Nolan! "I NEED TO HOLD YOU"!!! Poor kid, we walked around a bit and luckily it wasn't busy so we were able to be moved to a table by the fish tank where real live Dori's and Nemo's were swimming...that helped and every time the dinosaurs roared I'd tell him to say, "QUITE DOWN IN THERE" of course he did! :)

We followed up with a little shopping and headed back to the hotel for a little dip in the pool. Nolan enjoyed getting in the water and it was super nice in the water, a bit chilly when we got out, but still a nice pool and great to be able to swim outside in February! We met a couple of little girls from New York and Nolan enjoyed "Impressing" them with his leaps into the pool. He'd yell...WATCH THIS and then jump as far as he could!

Since it was our last night I thought we'd walk back over to Downtown Disney for dinner. I thought the Rainforest Cafe would be more Nolan's speed....turns out, it wasn't. He was more scared there than at T-Rex...disaster! He held his hands over his ears and was just TERRIFIED! I ordered and let him sit on my lap, well, in SECONDS he was passed out! Poor kid was just exhausted! So, I ate my dinner and back to the hotel we went. Nolan didn't wake up during the stroller transfer, the walk back nor the transition to bed...he slept until 8:30 the next morning! He was tuckered out!

Thursday John had meetings till noon. So we packed up, checked out and hung out until he was finished. At the airport John decided to get a shoe shine. Nolan sat up with him so proud, it was so cute!! The nice shoe shiner even gave Nolan a little shine on his Nike's for sitting so good!!

We had great flights home, we were all glad to be home and to sleep in our own beds, but we had a great time and THANK YOU DADDY for taking us with you to your meeting at Disney!!!

The Greatest Place on Earth!

WELCOME TO DISNEY!

We had a WONDERFUL flight, I'm feeling great and the excitement of Disney is CONTAGIOUS! In fact Nolan is so excited he's been running around his 2x3 foot crib for the last hour and a half trying to calm down. That means he's REALLY tired! :)

It's amazing how many forms of transportation it takes to "go see Mickey". Let's see, we started at 4:15 AM Sunday morning. This is what it takes to "go see Mickey":
*Car from home to airport
*Plane from Wichita to Houston
*Numerous escalators and convaier belts in Houston Airport
*A train in Houston Airport
*Plane from Houston to Orlando
*Train to baggage claim
*More escalators and an elevator
*Taxi from airport to hotel
*Elevators in hotel
*Bus from hotel to Magic Kingdom
*Train from parking lot to park
*Stroller down Mainstreet
FINALLY SEE MICKEY!!!

Whew....it's amazing when you think about it how many forms of transportation it actually takes to GET HERE!

Sunday we arrived at Magic Kingdom just in time for the "Move it, Shake It, Celebration". We danced in the streets front row with Mickey! Nolan LOVED it, we saw Mickey and Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang. We went to the "Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor" and Nolan and John were even apart of the show! Next we went to Buzz Lightyear's Space Rangers, let's just say Nolan and John BOTH enjoyed this ride! It was so cute to see the boys bonding and enjoying this ride. We enjoyed dinner at Cosmic Ray's then headed over to the Awesome SpectroMagic parade! Good times when you see all of the characters light up in this awesome parade! This is definately one of my favorites. We ended with the fireworks and headed home. We were all exhausted, remember, we started this day at 3:30 AM!

This morning we went to Magic Kingdom again! We started the day with Breakfast with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eor. Then off to, you guessed, BUZZ Lightyear! We enjoyed this ride one more time with daddy before he had to head back to get ready for his meetings, that is of course why we are here! :) This afternoon we met...Buzz Lightyear, Cinderellla, Belle, Another princess in a pink dress, if you can name her, I'll be thrilled!! :) Then on to Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald! It was a action packed day full of CHARACTERS! Nolan had a great time and it was so fun to watch him wait his "TURN" in line to take his autograph book up to them and get their pictures. Our little prince Charming with the Princesses, the "cool dude" with Buzz and Goofy and just pure excitement with Donald and Mickey! While at the park today we also took in a parade and a show in front of Cinderella's house! :)

We finally got back to our hotel and of all things our room key didn't work, so since i didn't have my drivers license, hello, all of the transportation we took we didn't need a drivers license, why would I carry that! So after a bit of a wait, security let us into our room. :) We are STILL trying to wind down after 2 1/2 hours, but it will happen! :) Let me rephrase that...NOLAN is still trying to wind down, I have been "down" for the last 2 1/2 hours! :)

Okay, sweet dreams...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hey All! Are you gearing up for the "Hallmark Holiday"?? I am behind, as usual but I did sit down today to print off a picture for Valentine's Cards. Much to my dismay, MY PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT? Why? No reason, just doesn't feel like it I guess! Gotta love technology!

SO, here is our Valentine card to all of you!! I even made cupcakes to deliver so I'll be sure that we take care of those for you. Actually I've eaten two and am blah...but just wait an hour or so, the next feeding time will kick in! :)

This week has been SO much better. We've been to the park a couple of times, to Luke's basketball game on Tuesday, I have even done a number of loads of dishes in the dishwasher, laundry AND COOKED three times!!!...yes, call me mom/wife of the year! This is only exciting because I haven't had any energy to do any of this before this week, so we're starting to get back to normal.

We are gearing up for our next week. John has a business meeting in Orlando and invited Nolan and I to join him. So we are leaving Sunday EARLY and plan to see MICKEY Sunday and Monday and then starting Monday night John will be in meetings for the rest of the week. What will we do you ask? ANYTHING WE WANT IN SUNNY FLORIDA!!! We are staying in Downtown Disney so playing and shopping there, the hotel has great pools and activities and if nothing else, maybe we'll hit a theme park or something. Luckily mommy and Nolan aren't real shy about getting out and about by ourselves! We just pray that mommy is feeling REALLY good with lots of energy to go have fun!! Nolan totally deserves this little "vacation". Poor little guy has had a GROUCHY mommy for 6 weeks....the kids deserves a medal and hopefully won't be in counseling! :)

Okay, Happy Valentine's day to all!!!

Where have I been??

Hello...been awhile since I have been on here. Well, we are now 11 1/2 weeks pregnant and today was the best day I've had in a long time! PRAISE!!! We went on a walk this morning, took a nice nap this afternoon, followed by a trip to the park and the grocery store. I even made DINNER! WHOA!! I'm extremely exhausted now, but it was a great day to feel somewhat normal again.

What have we been up to you ask? Well, we did enjoy a week and a half at my parents house. Mom nursed me back to health with lots of food at various times of day. Nolan enjoyed the grandparents and really enjoyed all of the ladies in my mom's beauty shop. You see my mom has a beauty shop in the back of their house, been there for 35 years I believe so he had new friends to play with every 30 minutes. He thought that was pretty cool. Their dog, Rome, was not too interested in Nolan until she figured out that Nolan really liked to feed her, so she warmed up to him a little. However, when the food was gone, so was Rome. Nolan was pretty quick to follow though. One day, Rome had had enough of Nolan, so she went to her kennel to lay down, much to her surprise, Nolan followed her in there and closed the door. She was not to thrilled....but she survived. :)

Last week we had WONDERFUL help from our dear friend, Heather. She stayed with us since John is SUPER busy at work. She brought me breakfast every morning, got Nolan up and ready for the day. Many days she helped while I slept and did so much around the house! She was wonderful...THANK YOU "HA"!!!

This past weekend I was able to participate a little with my great friends, Christy and Libby at Crop-a-ganza. This is an amazing event that we do twice a year together. We pack up all of our scrapbook stuff and go to a hotel for an entire weekend and SCRAP! I didn't stay at the hotel this time, just scraped a little Friday and Saturday both. But as I wasn't feeling well, I was glad to sleep in my own bed and be home in the mornings when it's kind of rough getting started. I was COMPLETELY exhausted on Sunday, so I slept most of the day, however it was great to visit with the gals and catch up. I also scraped Nolan's 2nd birthday party so that was fun too!!

We are praying things continue to look up from here on out with the baby sickness. We are heading to Florida next week, leaving Sunday. John has a business meeting at Disney World of all places, so the wonderful husband he is, he's taking Nolan and I a couple days early to see Mickey, then we'll hang out at the resort until time to come home. Praying for a good flight and healthy while we're there!! I'll keep you posted....
