Yes, it was much like the National Lampoon's...but not really! :) We were scheduled to be in Florida but due to the oil we had to cancel and get the back up plan. John did a great job of planning our vacation in Kansas City and we had such a great time!!
Day 1: We enjoyed an awesome BBQ at my brother's house with his family. They grilled up some awesome food and it was so great to see them and their girls! Spanky just LOVES "lou" so they had a blast! M didn't feel well so we didn't get to see her much and the twins were cute as ever! That evening we enjoyed Ameristar Buffet, the awesome arcade playing Deal or No Deal...I think i would do really good on that show! And took in a movie.
Day 2: Oceans of Fun, here we come. This was SUPER fun. I hadn't ever been to OOF and it was awesome! I highly recommend it. They had a great kids area for Spanky and the older kids had a blast on the big slides. That evening we had an awesome meal at Cheesecake Factory...YUM and spent some time on the plaza, took a horse ride, drove around and then ended with a hopping round of bowling. Seriously, Spanky almost beat me! He does love to bowl...might see a future there.
Day 3: Worlds of Fun...ALL DAY! We had a great time. Camp Snoopy was made for Spanky. He had a blast and all of us took turns riding the Roller coasters, great great time! We did all 5 of us, I forgot to mention Darla stayed with the Vincent's house while we were gone as she wouldn't have had that much fun. SO, the 5 of us were in the boat on the Viking Voyage. It was so fun...I laughed SOOO hard and we seriously about tipped the boat. We actually ended the day with a final ride on the VV to remember that great day!!
Day 4: Union Station to the Dino exhibit, the train exhibit and Science City. Great times all of these places were super awesome! We lunched at Fritz's. It's this restaurant in Crown Center that you call in your order and then this train driving around the track above the restaurant and then when it's your food, it's leaves it on the platter and the platter lowers to your table. C O O L! I was totally impressed with this and Spanky was even MORE impressed! The older kids even thought it was pretty cool. Ole Miss Rascal finally figured out how it dropped the food off!! :) We're so glad she figured it out! :) HA! That night we went to a Royals game which was WAY more fun than I thought it would be. I mean, there is no secret that they are NO GOOD...but it was lots of fun. Of course all of the kids got their Royals gear and between Silly bands and peanuts Spanky enjoyed his first Royals game and we all did as well!! Surprisingly the Royals lost, but it was lots of fun!
Day 5: Basketball Experience at Spring Center. This is an awesome place also if you have kids that like basketball. Alfalfa had a blast, I think he'd still be there if we'd have let him. Turns out, Justin Beiber was having a concert at the Sprint Center that evening. So Miss Rascal and I walked down to see if there was anything to see. We talked to a very nice security guard and got to see his busses, but that's about all we got to see. But at least we got to see that. It was fun to talk to all the "Beiber fans" waiting there, with intentions of being there all day. That evening we went to Legends, did a little shopping and ate at Wild Bill's where Spanky got to ride the mechanical bull!! Yee Haw!!!
Day 6: Last day...
There was a little story from John and I's honeymoon about a Waffle House and next door to the hotel so we kept saying all week that we should eat there. Well, we decided on our last day, we better check it out. Well, it wasn't bad....enough said. Anyway, we headed out to Schlitterbahn, played there only for a bit and then everyone was tired so we headed home.
What a FUN FABULOUS AWESOME VACATION!! We really had a great time and thank you again to my awesome hubby for planning it all!! He did great!!!
And now for the slide show...
