What a difference a week makes....

Last week, we were all preparing for the SNOW BLIZZARD!! Stocking up on groceries, getting things to make "Comfort" foods, soups and caramel popcorn to hunker down and watch it snow. Friday with the freezing rain, we went to bed with NO ELECTRICITY! Luckily the gas fireplaces heat the house quite well. Saturday the snow was amazingly crazy for a March snow storm! At times it was hard to see the pond in the back it was snowing and blowing so hard! Nolan and I passed the morning by watching a movie on my laptop. SO, you could say that we weren't "roughing" it too bad.

After nap time, the snow had stopped and let the games begin!! Nolan and I went to the middle school to meet friends to sled down "THE HILL" behind the school!! There is a steep side and a not so steep side. They started on the steep side and then ended up on the other side. Nolan had a BLAST!! He even went by himself a couple of times and giggled the "nervous giggle" the entire time! :) We arrived home hoping that the electricity would be back on, but not so much luck. So we ventured out to make a snow man. The snow wasn't that great and mom isn't good at making snow men, so we ended up making a "snow dawg" that actually resembled more of a penguin. We finally decided to turn the generator on so we could watch a little tv as the computer batteries were dead....something's going to have to entertain us for the evening! :)

Sunday, again no electricity but we were entertained with church and by the time church was over, the snow was about gone too! Gotta love Kansas...blizzard one day, 60 degrees the next!!

Sounds like it might be that way again this weekend, 65 today and possible snow tomorrow! :) Just like they say, if you don't like the weather in Kansas, wait 24 hours, it'll change! :)

Here are some pictures from our fun times....I need to get the snow dawg pictures from my phone. :) I might try to post some video too...WATCH out...techno Randa on the loose!
