Bon Jovi

This past Thursday, John and I took Miss Rascal and Alfalfa to the Bon Jovi concert. It was our first visit to the new Intrust Arena and it was AWESOME! So fun, what a great venue for Wichita to have! We started out with dinner at Cheddars. Miss Rascal informed us she was a little nervous as she hadn't ever been to a ROCK concert before. We assured her it would be a great time...little did we know!

We met up with some friends at the arena before the concert and watched a little of the KSU game but mostly people watched. It was so fun to watch what some people pull out of their closet to wear to Bon Jovi!! Some of it I'm sure was from the 80's and it was their original gear. Some of it, they should have left in the closet...but good for them for being brave! :)

We had pretty good seats, they were at the back of the arena, but they were 6-7 rows from the floor...so good seats. BUT, those of you that know me, I don't really like to be in the back...in fact I like to be as close as I can to any action that might be going on. I am a true music lover or any kind and Live music is just IT for me! I decided to do a little asking around and to make a LONG story SHORT....we got moved to the FRONT ROW OF THE PIT!!! Seriously, not just closer, but THE FRONT ROW!! It was like God placed us at the right place at the right time and WOWZER...FRONT ROW WE WENT!! I mean like we were so FRONT ROW that we go to keep our own Bon Jovi folding chairs! Which we found out the next day were pretty comfy, however not a one of us tried them out that night...no no, no need to sit when your on the front row!! :)

Alfalfa said it best after the concert..."How do we ever top that"....our answer, "We don't". As far as concerts go, it was one of the best I've been two, maybe in comparison to Garth Brooks in his day. But really, Mr. Bon Jovi sang his heart out and he sounded just like he did in the 80's. That's what John said, let's face it I was Nolan's age it the early 80's! :) He was on stage for 2 1/2 hours and just his music. No fireworks, no fluff....just good ole music!!

So...it was a great start to spring break and a great start to John's new hobby...CONCERTS!! :) What a fun time and great memories that we shared with our older kids!

We were in the back of the arena...yada yada yada...and then next thing you know, we scored front row seats.

On behalf of all your readers, can you clue us in on how you made this happen? Or will I have to uninvite my husband to see DMB next fall and take you instead?
