SOCCER!

This weekend was our first ever soccer game for Spanky!  John and Alfalfa are coaching and it was an experience for all.  John and Alfalfa first and foremost know NOTHING about soccer, in fact John thought you know, they are 3 and 4, you really just get them out there to run around.  Well, it turns out it's a little different, however they all survived and did really great!  John did an amazing job encouraging the kids and I think they all had a lot of fun!

Spanky was pretty excited and did a great job.  He scored 2 of the 4 goals, one was a "coast to coast" in Alfalfa's words, straight to the goal!  The other he just happened to be the last one to touch the ball as it aimlessly rolled into the goal. :)

They have 6 players on their team, three boys, two girls and one absent.  The girls were older and you could tell they had played before.  CA was pretty interested in the sticks he'd found but after John kept them safely in his pocket for him he did great. CB hasn't too sure about the whole soccer thing, but I know he'll be hanging with the best of them in a week or two and Spanky, well, he was a go getter...but I think it really helped that he's daddy was out there coaching on the field.

CB: How many more teams are we going to play?
John: Just this one.
CB: How much longer?
John: About 30 minutes.
CB: 30 MINUTES!
John: Well, maybe just 10....AND if you play real hard, Spanky's mommy brought you a snack.
CB: It's okay, my mommy brought me a snack!

LOL...good times!!  It will be so much fun to see how the kids progress and play through the next 6 weeks.
